Chicago jury awards $1.8 million to woman who was sexually assaulted at hotel

Plaintiff’s attorney Karla Gress had asked jurors during closing arguments Thursday afternoon to award her $25 million for past and future emotional distress and other damages she suffered after her October 2013 stay at a Holiday Inn in Chicago’s northern suburb of Skokie, where she says a security guard assaulted her.
