Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Los Angeles / Sherman Oaks debuts for the second time after a redesign by Studio HBA, a rising brand within global hotel design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA). 15 kilometers from Universal Studios Hollywood, Warner Bros. Studios. and Burbank Studios in an urban area of the San Fernando Valley, the 96-room hotel caters to the creative class and discerning business traveler.

Designed in the tradition of boutique hotels, interiors at the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Los Angeles / Sherman Oaks reflect a playful interpretation of Southern California culture. Contemporary nods to the valley’s cinema past and present, along with the region’s bygone citrus groves and the proverbial indoor / outdoor lifestyle, are cleverly woven into a cohesive visual vocabulary in the rooms, suites, public spaces and hallways.

“Our design is a playful interpretation of the rich history of the San Fernando Valley and the relaxed indoor-outdoor lifestyle that is the epitome of Southern California,” said Alisa Chodos, director of Studio HBA. “The design also pays homage to the valley’s cinematic history that continues today. “

Arrival sets the tone for the customer experience inside. Behind the reception is a floor-to-ceiling mural of orange and orange branches, which serves as a focal point and refreshing welcome. A refined patchwork of wood planks and finishes reminiscent of citrus crates draw the eye to the high ceilings while a 12ft. a preserved orange tree proudly anchors the center of the lobby, an endearing tribute to the 15,000 acres of citrus groves that once covered the valley.

Large, intimate, friendly seating offers comfort and flexibility for working, having a cappuccino, and chatting. Klieg floor lamps add cinematic energy to the space. Ceramics, accessories and decorative elements are inspired by cameras, photographic equipment and agricultural tools. By changing the scale and raising the utilitarian objects framed like works of art, the ordinary becomes the extraordinary.

“The Hampton Inn Los Angeles / Sherman Oaks is a modern and stylish gem designed with comfort and flexibility in mind to create opportunities for hotel guests and team members to bond together. and lasting impressions, ”Chodos said.

The design narrative continues to unfold as you enter the guest rooms’ elevator lobbies where black-and-white tile floors define the exuberant story, and custom-printed photos of antique orange groves on the lobby consoles of the elevator provide a fiery moment of surprise. As you walk through the hallways of the rooms, a large-scale nighttime scenery of the San Fernando Valley covers the walls and makes a sensational statement.

An extension of public space design, the spacious rooms are evocative of sunny Southern California in color palette, attitude and overall design, providing a sense of place with touches of temperate yellow with accents of blues and greens. A collage of hand-picked vintage postcards by happy travelers pinned to a corkboard makes up the bedroom artwork in addition to a hand-carved movie camera, all in a loving keepsake of the bedroom. ‘yesteryear.

Meeting rooms include a large meeting room that opens onto an outdoor patio – an ambitious conversion of the old indoor pool – and can be used for business or social gatherings. The other public spaces transformed by Studio HBA are the business center and the dining room.
