Elys approved expansion of sports betting operations at Grand Central Sportsbook in DC

Gaming and sports betting technology company Elys gaming technology announced on Wednesday that Grand Central Restaurant and sports betting in Washington DC received the approval of the DC Lottery and Gaming Office to expand its sports betting operations.

the Regulation and Supervision Division authorized Elys and Grand Central to increase the number of authorized teller terminals and self-service betting kiosks on site. The expansion is expected to allow for increased traffic to each terminal, improving customer experience and putting speedaccording to a press release.

“Our partnership with Grand Central has been mutually rewarding and we are confident that the onboarding rate for our small business deployment will increase significantly through 2022said Michele Ciavarella, Executive Chairman of Elys Game Technology.

According to the executive, Elys’ growth in the small business space is a key part of a “three-pronged approach” to generating revenue and growing in the North American gaming market.which also includes progress on a previously announced agreement with Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, and the continued development of the company’s US digital and mobile channel.

“With our rapid deployment in the United States, we continued to prove our cutting-edge betting technology by performing well against recognized industry leadersand with the firm belief that we will continue to have a better retention rate, we plan to gain a strong foothold in the US market,” added Ciavarella.

The recently announced expansion comes after the company reported significant incremental growth in betting management at the Grand Central site. Elys partnered with the restaurant in October last year to offer sports betting through a Class B operator license. It was described at the time as “the first sportsbook of its kind” to be operated within an independent commercial establishment in the country.

Elys provides Grand Central with the turnkey retail betting solution on point-of-sale and kiosk equipment, as well as managed services to operate the bookmakerincluding back office and business intelligence, odds and event offerings, risk management and trading services.

December, in particular, marked a very successful month for Grand Central sportsbook.with earnings over $90,000, as well as approximately $735,386 in total sports betting handled by the site.

Monthly betting tickets from November to December nearly doubled from 7,951 to 12,661 in the company’s third month of operation in the United States.. This represents a more than fivefold increase in betting slips and more than three times bets wagered from October, while the hold remained “firmly in the double digits”, according to a press release.

In addition to its small business approach, Elys reaches crucial milestones in its partnership with Ocean Casino Resort. Under a deal struck last year, Ely’s subsidiary Booklet is set to provide casino transaction management services and retail solutions as part of a new $4 million entertainment venue that will debut “by summer.”

Last month, the company submitted its betting platform for certification in New Jersey, ahead of the planned rollout in the state.. The company has also applied for a transactional waiver which, once approved, would allow the company to begin installation procedures.
