GRAND FUNK RAILROAD launches its 2021 tour
GRAND FUNK RAILWAY– the legendary rock & roll powerhouse who kicked off their 2021 tour with a sold-out show on July 2 in Fayetteville, GA – is now represented by United Talent Agency (UTA) after following their longtime agent Zach Hartley there- low. Hartley joined the agency in June 2021 and is based out of the company’s Nashville office.

Notably, this year marks the 50th anniversary of when the band’s show at Shea Stadium in New York City sold faster than The Beatles.
Known as “The American Band”, the highly energetic five-piece GRAND FUNK RAILROAD includes original founding members Don Brewer (vocals and drums, songwriter and singer of the multi-million-selling hit “We’re An American Band. “) And bassist Mel Schacher,” The God of Thunder “. Joining Don and Mel are true “All Stars”. Singer Max Carl is a 38 Special rock veteran. Max wrote and sang 38’s biggest hit, “Second Chance,” and was a co-founder of the legendary Jack Mack and the Heart Attack in California. Don calls Max “the best blue-eyed soul singer on the planet.” Lead guitarist Bruce Kulick is best known for his 12 years with KISS and has credits with Michael Bolton, Meatloaf and Billy Squier. (KISS members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley were influenced by Grand Funk early on.) Keyboardist Tim Cashion has a master’s degree in music from the University of Miami. Affectionately referred to as “Dr. Tim,” his credits include appearances with Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band and English soulman Robert Palmer.
Grand Funk laid the groundwork for bands such as Foreigner, Journey, Van Halen, and Bon Jovi with their harsh driving sound, soulful vocals, muscular instrumentation, and powerful pop melodies. The fact that the legacy of Grand Funk still reigns over the classic rock landscape 50 years later is a testament to the band’s influence and resistance. The mega-hits “We’re An American Band”, “I’m Your Captain / Closer to Home”, “Locomotion” and “Some Kind Of Wonderful” are still streaming on Classic Rock radio. “We’re An American Band” has gained notoriety in recent years by being used in movie soundtracks and in television / radio advertising. The huge success was featured in a national General Motors television ad campaign and in the Disney animated feature The Country Bears. “We are an American Band” was featured in the Radio Cuba movie Gooding Jr. and in the Sahara Oscillating Shield starring Matthew McConaughey.
