Highlights from the final day of this year’s summit
After two days of changeable weather, the sun thankfully came out for the third and final day of the 2022 International Music Summit, bathing Destino Resort and all of its IMS delegates in warm summer rays. Besides the look of the resort changing drastically under the sunlight and clear blue sky, new additions have also been found across the resort. Banners and visuals emblazoned with the words “Duran Duran” to be exact.
The internationally acclaimed new wave band had landed on the White Island ahead of their “Touch the Sunrise” series of events, including a club night at Pacha, an exclusive film screening and a very special outdoor concert in Ushuaia. Beginning with a keynote speech in the Summit Suite at the International Music Summit, the opener of the seven-day sequence would also feature band friend and Phantasy Sounds boss Erol Alkan delivering the vibe of the party later in the evening.
Aside from our own keynote with Event Horizon Director Wilf Gregory on the company’s twenty year history in live events, the main attraction of the day was obviously the closing party. in Dalt Villa. Held in Ibiza’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Dalt Vila, easily one of the most amazing places Skiddle’s team has ever partied, the seven-hour experience saw sets from Prospa following each other with IMS co-host Jaguar Patrick Topping, Joy Orbison back-to-back with Overmono, TSHA, and Jamie Jones and The Blessed Madonna, who broke the last set of the night together on stage. A short stroll through Ibiza town and after some late night lasagna, Skiddle’s team gathered, grabbed a cab and headed back to the hotel.
And just like that, IMS Ibiza 2022 is over. We met some fantastic people, saw lots of interesting talks and interviews, and probably danced a little too hard to some of the hottest DJs around. Will we be back next year? You can count on it!
