Star-studded event will raise funds for vital health and education programs in Africa

LOS ANGELES, September 6, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The GEANCO Foundation will hold its annual Hollywood gala on friday september 30 at The 1 Hotel to raise funds for programs focused on vulnerable women and children in Nigeria.

Proceeds from the event will support GEANCO David Oyelowo Leadership Scholarship for Girlswhich provides full tuition, housing, health and social care to young women who are victims of terrorism and gender inequality in Nigeria. This special scholarship uplifts and empowers bright girls in volatile and challenging circumstances. Donations will also be used to support the Foundation November 2022 minimally invasive surgery mission Nigeria.

The Gala is supported by personalities from the entertainment industry, such as Benedict Cumberbatch (honorary president), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Gala Chair), David Oyelowo (Gala Chair)and previous gala winners and Oscar winners Charlize Theron and Whitaker Forest. Previous gala guests include actors Scott Eastwood (Anger of man), Ava Du Verney (Oscar nominated director and screenwriter) and Sam Adegoke (Dynasty).
