Inverurie architectural firm in demand for multi-million pound projects

Since the start of the year, the ten-person multidisciplinary team of Lippe Architects + Planners, based in Inverurie, have seen renewed demand for their comprehensive, in-house services to work on a wide variety of residential, commercial, commercial, industrial and community projects throughout Aberdeenshire and across Scotland.

A key part of the award-winning company’s recent workload was a major enabling development project at the Meldrum House Hotel.

Here, Lippe Architects + Planners worked closely with stakeholders including the hotel owners, property company Cairnrowan Custom Homes and the local authority to successfully navigate the intricacies of this complex planning process to revise previous plans and secure a total of 34 houses.

The company has worked on a wide variety of projects in Aberdeenshire and Scotland.

This specially listed development aims to recoup the costs involved in restoring risk listed buildings, in this case the A listed stable at Meldrum House which has been successfully retained and brought back into use as part of the hotel complex.

Director/Senior Architect, Willie Lippe, said: “Despite the ongoing economic difficulties linked to the Covid pandemic, we are delighted to be involved in a series of projects which have ensured a dynamic and busy first half.

“Our work with Meldrum House Hotel and Cairnrowan is an excellent example of a longstanding relationship moving into a new phase, using our wealth of in-house expertise and strong local knowledge to deliver a successful outcome in a highly prestigious project.

“We are delighted to help bring about a development that leaves a legacy that everyone can be proud of and that will make a positive contribution to the local community in terms of investment and job creation.

“It was important to us that the project improve the ecological footprint and preserve wildlife habitat within the estate.

“Using the latest technology, these A-rated homes will be built to the highest levels of thermal performance in line with our green strategy for the estate.”
