Milwaukee Night Market returns to downtown this summer
The Milwaukee Night Market will return to downtown West Wisconsin Avenue this summer for its first full season since the COVID-19 hit.
The market will offer a free showcase of vendors, performers and artists from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. between North 2nd Street and North Phillips Avenue on June 15, July 13, August 17 and September 21.
The event was previously known as Newaukee Night Market, as social engagement agency Newaukee launched the event in 2014 and held its last in 2019, before COVID-19 canceled the 2020 events .
The Westown Association Business Improvement District took over the event in 2021 and held a single night market, drawing more than 25,000 attendees, according to a press release.
This year will be the first time that Westown has hosted multiple night markets in the summer.

“We are thrilled with the return of the Milwaukee Night Market and look forward to hosting a full season this summer,” Stacie Callies, executive director of the Westown Association, said in a press release. “In 2021, we saw the Night Market provide a unique opportunity to congregate on West Wisconsin Avenue as many visitors and employees returned downtown after months away. Now, in 2022, we can recreate that environment at four different times, making it the best summer event in town for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience Milwaukee.
Westown is looking for vendors to participate in the night market this year. Applications can be found at mkenightmarket.com; the deadline to apply is March 18.
American Family Insurance is sponsoring vendor fees for 10 booths at each event for Black, Indigenous, or Colored contractors.
Other community partners include Graef, Gruber Law Offices, Miller Lite and We Energies Foundation.
