The Chumash Casino Resort is preparing to launch its annual Project Pink campaign again, featuring snacks, candies, specialty desserts and pink-colored drinks at its restaurants throughout the month of October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Starting Friday, October 1, expertly crafted creations from the resort’s talented food and beverage department will be on display to raise awareness and fund a local non-profit organization. For the second year in a row, a portion of the proceeds, along with a dollar-for-dollar matching grant from the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians Foundation, will be donated to the Mission Hope Cancer Center, which is supported by the Center’s Marian Regional Medical Foundation. .

“It is time, once again, for our food and beverage service to shine for a good cause,” said Kenneth Kahn, tribal president of the Chumash Band of Santa Ynez Indians. “Our chefs have devoted months of planning and preparation to our annual Project Pink campaign, and their dedication is reflected in every pink-colored creation featured throughout the property.”

New items that will debut on October 1 in the resort’s Grains & Grounds Dessert Case for this year’s campaign will be:

· Chocolate Cherry Cake – a devil’s cake made with cherry compote and dark chocolate mousse. ($ 10)

Raspberry Almond Pie – a pie crust filled with almond cream and raspberry sauce, topped with raspberry mouse and fresh raspberries. ($ 18)

Strawberry Vanilla Cake – While it looks like a giant donut with pink frosting and sprinkles, it’s a citrus pound cake with strawberry jelly and a center of vanilla mousse. ($ 25)

White Chocolate Elderflower Cake – Shaped like a blooming rose, this creation has a center filled with elderflower jelly and white chocolate mousse. ($ 5)
